Depending on the amount of data it collects, it becomes a champion capable of fighting against Ultimate levels.

gulusgammamon is also a champion/adult and easily kills ultimates/perfects every time he shows up.
there are other digimon that can fight things of a higher stage.
lucemon subjected the entire digital world as rookie/child and when he evolves to champion/adult, lucemon cm/fm has no trouble taking down mega/ultimate or mega/ultimate-tier digimon
arkadimon (in-training/baby) had no issue killing and eating a piedmon in v-tamer.
taichi and zeromaru were also adept at taking down digimon of higher stages though skill and strategy.
while their technically not digimon until a year after the events of the story, the kemonogami partners grew strong enough at rookie/child stages to take on ultimate/perfects or mega/ultimate levels in digimon survive. take not that i'm referring to cutscenes specifically though gameplay wise you could make just about anything capable of taking down anything else in game. you could also get a never-ending battle going as i did before becuase my mon was too slow to hit them, but they couldn't deal more damage than it could heal from...

Well Eyesmon is a special case where it's one of those that become more powerful the bigger the cluster of them there are. On their own they are pretty weak of course but thousands of them you got Homunculus Pride from FMAB after eating Gluttony.

For some reason I laughed at how Hiro covered Gammamon's eyes when Emma tried to kiss Kiyoshiro. Almost like this happened:

yes and no, through out many of the seasons and Many of the games, the Digimon series has often handled darker themes AND done them really well. Honestly GhostGame has really cemented my love for the franchise.

Creepy episode, probably the creepiest episode to date and it was really well done, I would have loved more development for Emma tho... but it was an overall great episode, and I'm fine with it having a happy ending for once.

Really, ok I'll take your word for it but the reason I'm wondering is I am curious if that Oboromon Disaster last episode is going to have any effects on Gammamon's behavior for at least the next few episodes or so. No matter how subtle or not subtle I am trying to pay attention to Gammamon's behavior for the next few episodes.

Finally, someone else actually finds out about the Digimon. They don't have to pass them off as holograms around her. Seriously, there have been so many times they should have done that in the past but somehow still went with 'Oh, they're just highly advanced holograms with the ability to eat and taste things'.

Well there has been others (Yuto from the Ajatarmon episode (episode 24), Kayano from the Extyrannomon and a WaruMonzaemon episode (episode 30))... but it was more a case of "given the circumstances of that episode, they must have had to figure out they weren't holograms by themselves"
Emma is probably the only one they told her 100% about digimon though

I doubt they set her up as Espimon partner though....
